Nope. I'd always heard great things about it and finally got around to getting into it in college 8+ years ago. I successfully then got my brother and my sister into it, and the sister's husband.

Help me out here, I'm a huge sci fi fan but never seen Farscape; just watched the first few episodes about two weeks ago and I'm just not into it yet. Does it start to gel as it goes on? Because io9 gives it a lot of love.

It does. The big thing with Farscape is that because it's an ensemble show, it doesn't start off with that much of a major plot imperative. It's about the characters more so than characters reacting to a set of events/plot arc. As such, with a lot of character establishment yet to come about in the first episodes, it's not immediately attention-grabbing like some series are.

That, and a couple of the early episodes before it hits its stride are slow (I, E.T., Jeremiah Crichton, etc.) The episodes Thank God It's Friday (Again), DNA Mad Scientist, Back and Back and Back to the Future are all among the high points of the first season and within the first ten, though. PK Tech Girl is also pretty good.

Got it, I was pathetically hopeful that maybe someone was going to do something with the property. I loved the series although it did get a bit weird, take itself a bit too seriously, as it reached it's end. Kinda like Eureka... It lost it's ability to poke fun at itself.

They have the first season on bluray for $20 at the Walmart near me. If they had had the entire series I would have bought it.

Been watching it on TV, and getting into it over the last week or so.

It's no Firefly, but it isn't bad.

Lots of mental-manipulation episodes, I've noticed.
